Since 1951, Wellington Fire Protection District (DISTRICT) has provided fire suppression, rescue, extrication, hazardous materials, emergency medical, public education, and risk reduction services to 288 square miles of northern Larimer County, including the Town of Wellington, Waverly, Buckeye, and surrounding communities. The DISTRICT is now accepting applications for the position of Lieutenant and qualified applicants to establish an eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/EMT OR Firefighter/Paramedic.

  1. Lieutenant
  2. FIREFIGHTER

This position is a first-line supervisor and oversees day-to-day operations of their assigned crew. The Lieutenant reports to the Shift Battalion Chief.
 

Compensation: Salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 annually plus competitive leave, health and retirement benefits.

 
Minimum requirements:

  • Associates degree; or 60 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education; or any approved equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 36 months of recent and consecutive fire service experience
  • Current Colorado/IFSAC Firefighter I (FF II preferred)
  • Current Colorado/IFSAC Hazardous Materials Operations
  • Current State of Colorado EMTB
  • Current CPR Provider
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
  • NWCG Red Card Qualification
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License
  • Blue Card Command Qualification (within 12 months)
  • DFPC Fire Instructor I
  • DFPC Fire Officer I
