The Water Treatment Plant produces millions of gallons of drinking water a year. How many millions? In 2020 the plant produced 422 million gallons of drinking water. That number was up 50 million gallons from the previous year.
Some of the dramatic increases seen last year might have been due to lifestyle changes from COVID-19. Our engineers track water use in daily, weekly, and monthly peaks to plan and prepare.
Below is an update from the year-over-year usage during the month of June. This June's usage was slightly lower than 2020 but significantly higher than 2019.
