Step 3: Paying Business License Fees - Online

Your fees will not automatically be available for payment in CommunityCore.  You will receive an email notification from 'No-reply@communitycore.com' including the final invoice for your license once your application has been reviewed and approved by Staff.  When this happens, follow the steps below:


Step 1: Log in to the CommunityCore account

  • If you have submitted a paper application, in person or by email, staff will set up your account for Community Core for you. Please contact Business.licensing@wellingtoncolorado.gov to request a password reset, or verify user name and credentials. 

Step 2: In the left column under "Work," Select "Licenses"

Step 3: Select "Pay" for your pending license application

Beginning October 1, 2025, the Town will be charging a convenience fee to cover the added cost of processing electronic payments, such as credit or debit cards. The fee offsets merchant processing fees charged by card companies. Please note that choosing to pay by card is optional. 

There is a convenience fee charged by the Town for using this service. This processing fee is charged in accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes. This does not apply to billing statement payments made to Town of Wellington Municipal Utilities.

The fee schedule is as follows:

  • Check or Electronic Check: No fee!
  • Debit and Credit Cards: 3.00% of the transaction amount.

Why is there a 'convenience fee' for card payments?

Each time a person utilizes a credit card for purchases of goods or services, the credit card companies charge that entity a fee for the customer’s use of said card for that transaction. Most public entities like Towns, Counties, and States accept credit and debit cards as a courtesy, offering a convenient payment option to their customers. How they address the fees are uniquely individual to the entity, but increasingly over the past few years many municipalities have begun to pass this cost along to the customer to help offset the cost of offering this convenience and to reduce the operational expense burden on taxpayers.

Step 4: Select the fee(s) you want to pay, then click "Continue"

Step 5: Enter the amount you want to pay or select "Full Balance" to pay the outstanding amount in full, then click "Submit Payment"

Step 6: Select "Submit" on the final screen in CommunityCore (this will navigate you to the Town's payment website), then follow the instructions for payment on the Xpress Bill Pay website to pay by Card or E-Check.

Please allow 1-3  Business Day for processing by the Town. Business Licenses will be emailed to applicants following verification of payment by the Town.
